The MALVA Center for the Study of War, Language, and Memory and the Department of Russian at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz invite you to Armenian Studies Day on June 8. The event explores Armenian language, culture, memory, and contemporary politics through an interactive language session and a public discussion.

The evening roundtable, „National Memory and the 2026 Parliamentary Elections in Armenia,“ will examine how historical memory shapes political debates in contemporary Armenia. The discussion will address the legacy of the Armenian Genocide, the aftermath of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the role of collective memory in the country’s political future. The event is open to students, researchers, and the wider public.
